Looks like im gonna be trekking down again this year. I can take up to 6 peeps other than myself in my van, I rent a trailer and pack all the non-fragile stuffs in there.
We split gas/hotel by whomever rides down and shacks up with us in the hotel.
This year we plan on staying in the Embassy suites which is just 0.7Mil from the event, Free Booze every night sells me at that place as well as the $129/night price for a 2 bed with separate spacious living room suite. This place is huge and can sleep 8 comfortably.
Current schedule is to leave on Tuesday August 10th in the early AM, then arrive in Texas Wednesday at around 3 and check in at the hotel. I plan on going up Wednesday night for early check in to get my stuffs into the event. The LAN starts Thursday and Ends on Sunday. We leave Sunday after the event closes and were back in Michigan before sundown on Monday the 16th.
If anyone is interested in riding down with my group let me know through the following, cost is figured when we have a more accurate number of persons riding down. Last year with 6 total it was just over $200 a person.

July 1, 2010 (Rockville, MD) - id Software and Bethesda Softworks today announced that all attendee registration for QuakeCon 2010 will be handled on-site at the Hilton Anatole Hotel, located in Dallas, Texas, through a new and improved registration process. Designed to reduce the time BYOC (Bring-Your-Own-Computer) attendees spend waiting to register equipment, and generally better serve all those in attendance, this new and entirely on-site process will streamline every guest’s registration experience while still accommodating anyone that wants to take part in the BYOC. _________________ Damn u mongolians....stop breaking down my city wall!

Still got one spot left if anyone is still looking for transportation down. If we hit 7 this year it will bring the cost down to $180 per person. _________________ Damn u mongolians....stop breaking down my city wall!

I figured might as well, registered for QDQ. 20 bucks, get a shirt and a lithograph. Also good seating in all the events and panels, no longer stuck in the nosebleed section
About the going rate for that sort of thing so you arent getting shafted, the guaranteed spot in BYOC is just gravy.
