Now that I got to play the game a bit, I agree with the statement of it being dated...
Not sure if it is the anticipation of the game being worked on for all of this years or what it is but the game feels dated, the interface feels dated... it just does not feel like a big step forward. I am disappointed with the game and the beta instead of making me wanting to go buy it makes me want to just skip it and wait for Diablo which I hope to play when I go to Blizzcon!

I don't feel the game is dated. it's got new units, a more balanced system for units (everything's got a hard counter, mostly), and the obvious graphical update.
it's got a lot good going for it, can't wait for it to come out in july.
